While Lightovation/ the Dallas International Lighting Show remains the main exhibition for the decorative lighting community, the non-residential sector shares a lot of crossover business. Developments in LED technology are another reason more residential companies are exploring these additional, architectural lighting-based events.
LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL
Lightfair is the industry’s oldest and longest running show in North America with more than 27 years under its belt. The event is co-owned by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD, www.iald.org) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES, www.ies.org) and draws a vast a endance of design, lighting, technology, architecture, engineering, energy, facility and industry professionals from around the world. The event is co-owned, produced and managed by AMC, Inc. (www.americasmart.com). Lightfair will be held May 8-10 in Chicago.
LED SPECIFIER SUMMIT – NorthWest/Midwest
This annual conference and product showcase is dedicated to educating architects, designers, facility managers, energy consul- tants and other members of the commercial lighting market about the latest LED lighting solutions and trends. It features 15 seminars (with CEUs) led by top speakers, as well as exhibits by 150+ leading lighting and controls manufacturers. The LED Speci er Summit is managed by Exponation and is a registered AIA, USGBC, IDCEC, NCQLP and LA CES education provider.

The Healthcare Design Expo & Con- ference focuses on how the design of responsibly built environments directly impacts the safety, opera- tion, clinical outcomes, and  nancial success of healthcare facilities. Conference sessions cover a broad range of topics that are all relevant to today’s healthcare facilities and draw 3,600+ interior designers.
LEDUCATION – East Coast
Hosted by the Designers Lighting Forum of New York, LEDucation has become one of the lighting industry’s most popular events among both a endees and manufacturers. Expansion in both format, quality, and size for the annual event has led to the consis- tent growth and a endance of 12,000+ a endees over nine years and a show  oor of 250+ exhibitors. The event will be held March 13 & 14 in New York City.
IES (Illuminating Engineering
Society of North America, IESNA)
This organization is devoted to the advance- ment of knowledge and the dissemination
of information for the improvement of the lighted environment to the bene t of society. LD+A (Lighting Design + Application) is the o cial publication of the Illuminating Engi- neering Society of North America (IESNA). Local IES Chapters host tabletop expos and other sponsored events.
LIGHTSHOW WEST
LightShow West is the largest and longest-running trade show and confer- ence speci cally created for the West Coast architectural and commercial lighting community. The event is man- aged by Exponation and features 250+ leading manufacturers of lighting, technology, and controls plus includes 30 free CEU-accredited seminars as well as complimentary networking events.
