For the first time ever, lighting buyers attending the June International Lighting Market – held June 18-21 at the Dallas Market Center – will make their voices and preferences heard by voting on the product introduction they like most during the inaugural Market Choice Awards co-sponsored by enLIGHTenment Magazine and the Dallas Market Center (DMC).
The Market Choice Awards were created to bring back the excitement of finding new designs halfway through the year when distributors are gearing up for their busiest selling months before the holidays. Nearly three dozen lighting manufacturers are participating in the new awards competition, which allows buyers to express their opinions and feedback via votes for best new product in six categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Bath/Spa, Landscape, Ceiling Fans, and Portable Lamps. Approximately 70 new products will be unveiled at the Lighting Market as part of the Market Choice Awards. The competition has also inspired other lighting manufacturers to unofficially announce that they will debut new styles at market, adding to buyers’ excitement of having a fresh assortment of merchandise to view at the summer Dallas show.
Finding participating lighting manufacturers will be easy at market. There will be signs posted outside of each showroom entered in the Market Choice Awards plus electronic signage on the lighting floors of the Trade Mart to remind buyers of the competition and how to vote (by text) for their favorites.
On Saturday, the winning products in each category will be announced and the manufacturers will receive a trophy presented jointly by the staff members of the DMC as well as enLIGHTenment Magazine. The Market Choice Award-winning products and their manufacturers will also be featured in an upcoming edition of enLIGHTenment Magazine.
