The lighting world mourns the sudden loss of industry veteran Kirby Busby, the long-time National Sales Manager of Volume International, who died unexpectedly of complications from surgery on Monday, May 29, 2016.

His co-workers noted Kirby’s “positive outlook” and “relentless drive” among the traits they will miss most. “Kirby will be deeply missed, leaving behind those fond memories we have of him,” they said.

In 1999, Kirby joined Houston, Tex.-based Volume International Corp., and was considered to be an instrumental part of the company. “We have lost a great individual who helped our company achieve new heights. It was our privilege and honor to have known him,” noted his colleagues.

In his personal time, Kirby treasured his family, but when he talked about his “baby” everyone knew he was referring to his 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. His passion for BBQ won him many awards and was always a favorite among family and friends. Football season in the Busby household was all about showing support for his favorite team, The Houston Texans. Kirby had mastered the art of haggling and relished immensely in entertaining those around him with his impromptu performances.

“Kirby Busby was an extraordinary person,” his co-workers stated. “His passing is truly a great loss to our company and to our community as well. He will be profoundly missed.”
