Richmond, Va.-based Shades of Light, the multi-channel lighting and home decor retailer, has acquired Colonial Metalcrafts, a manufacturer and retailer of hand-crafted custom lighting fixtures headquartered in the same city.
Founded nearly 50 years ago, Colonial Metalcrafts has a long history of manufacturing its signature line of hand-crafted Colonial-inspired lighting products. The company is led by president and owner Jason Fredrick and has been owned and operated by the Fredrick family since 1993. Colonial’s team of skilled artisans regularly design and manufacture new products for the residential and hospitality markets as well as historic properties and for a number of feature films. Fredrick will continue to lead the manufacturing operations of Colonial Metalcrafts’ and all of its employees have been retained by Shades of Light.
The deal will add to Shades of Light’s line of exclusive lighting products and further enhance Shades of Light’s existing production capabilities.
