Rep4Life Launches Charity Event at High Point Market

Growing up watching their mother, Linda, a sales representative in the home furnishings industry, volunteer with charitable organizations such as serving on the board of Goodwill Industries impressed Alex and Max Fraser of Repzio so much that they’ve decided to launch their own non-profit 501c organization – called Rep4Life – this month. The purpose of the organization is to help independent sales representatives in the industry who are experiencing hard times due to unforeseen circumstances.

Orlando-based Rep4Life will provide help to sales reps in need in two ways:

  1. A crisis grant that pays basic living expenses directly for the rep, or
  2. A matching grant that matches funds raised by a manufacturer, family member, or rep group on the rep’s behalf.  Grant applications are accepted from individuals who are themselves traveling sales professionals, on behalf of another traveling sales professional, or an immediate dependent (spouse or child) as listed on tax returns.

The organization receives funding through its Web site (www.Rep4Life.org) and accepts donations from individuals or companies wishing to support this cause.  In addition, Rep4Life will also hold fundraising events during home furnishings markets, the first of which will occur in April during the Spring 2016 High Point Market. The High Point MarketAthon will begin Friday, April 15, and run through Monday, April 18.   Every market attendee is invited to participate.

A Market-A-Thon is a combination walk-a-thon, marathon, and working market.  With the High Point Market spanning millions of square feet in showroom space, it is an opportunity for participants to think of all that walking as a fun competition with a charitable component. Market attendees can sign up to participate in the MarketAthon or to sponsor someone who is signed up.  Teams are accepted.
