IES Publishes Test Procedures to Quantify Performance of LEDs

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) has issued a new document – IES Approved Method for the Characterization of LED Light Engines and LED Lamps for Electrical and Photometric Properties as a Function of Temperature – to establish consistent testing methods and data presentation for the ease of interpretation and comparison.

This will help luminaire manufacturers select suitable LED light engines and integrated LED lamps for each product. This approved laboratory method defines the procedures to quantify the performance of LED light engines and integrated LED lamps as a function of temperature.
