Cleveland-based Hinkley Lighting has supported a diverse group of charities that include the Embrace the Kids Foundation, Goombay Bash, Dwell with Dignity, and Susan G. Komen over the past several weeks.

“Our attitude is always family first. We try to carry that philosophy through everything we do, by keeping [our theme] ‘Life Aglow’ and supporting the important work of charities we believe in,” notes company president Rick Wiedemer. During the month of October, Hinkley’s corporate cause of supporting breast cancer initiatives was highlighted in an effort to help eradicate the disease.

“Team Pinkley” walked in Cleveland’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The rainy weather did nothing to dampen the spirits and energy of the team as they walked together, raising over $2,000 in donations.

The Hinkley family also increased awareness of the fight against breast cancer by hosting a “Think Pink” Day mid-month that encouraged employees, reps, and customers to wear pink. Pink popcorn, pink lemonade, and pink bagels were a part of the day, and the lights throughout the offices of its corporate headquarters glowed pink.
