Crystorama, a premier manufacturer of decorative lighting, has awarded winners in its recent Showroom Stars contest, a merchandising promotion hosted on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Crystorama.

The promotion encouraged retailers to post photos of their Crystorama lighting displays and inviting Facebook fans to vote on their favorites.

The grand prize winner was Living Lighting on King of Toronto, Canada, which received a $1,000 merchandise credit; the second place winner was Idlewood Electric Supply of Highland Park, Ill., which received a $750 credit; and third place went to Chadwick Design Lighting of Sandy, Utah, which received $500.

“We extend our congratulations and thanks to all of our retailers that participated,” says Brad Kleinberg, president of the Westbury, N.Y.-based lighting manufacturer. “It was a close competition, but in the end our Facebook fans spoke and chose their favorite entries.”

The grand prize winning display at Living Lighting on King featured Crystorama’s Broche fixture in a unique, fashion-forward arrangement. “Crystorama is such an inspirational company and the Showroom Stars contest is a good example of how the company is pushing the envelope on creativity with a Facebook page that is a daily breath of fresh air with relevant and interesting topics,” states Jodie Orange, owner of Living Lighting on King. “Winning the contest wasn’t in our expectations at all, but our display was a perfect fit for the Crystorama brand because it’s inspired by fashion, urban culture, and romance just like Crystorama.”

The second place winner, Idlewood Electric Supply, featured several Crystorama chandeliers that light up its showroom. “This was a great opportunity for us to be exposed to a larger audience on social media,” comments Pat Bunting of Idlewood Electric Supply. “We enjoyed participating and have gotten a lot of positive feedback. We can’t wait to see what Crystorama does next.”

The third place winner Chadwick Design Lighting showcased Crystorama chandeliers in the Wet White finish.

“Our retailer partners actively engaged in submitting and sharing 30 unique entries, and our Facebook fans submitted more than 1,000 votes,” Kleinberg notes. “Our goal is to create a program of ongoing promotions through social media.”
