CoMMErCial project
The lighting xture design is kept cohesive through- out the hotel, from guest room to restaurant.
The Hotel Jardines de Nivaria resort received a substantial refurbishment that took over ve months to complete and was handled by the Tenerife-based architectural rm ImpulsARQ, Madrid-based Stone Designs (which also has o ces in Tokyo and Moscow), and lighting manufacturer B.lux, headquartered in the Basque Country of Spain.
The remodeling project focused on upgrading the guest suites, as well as two restaurants, the spa, and the resort’s common areas while adhering to the style that represents the DNA of the Adrián Hoteles brand.
The work began with the suites, which involved creating a series of elements that would serve to unify the rest of the project. For the bedside lighting, Stone Designs created a suspension lamp consisting of a glass sphere of nearly six inches in diameter framed by a metal structure. The pendant design was such a success that it was named the C_Ball Collection and added to the B.lux product catalog.
In the public areas, Stone Designs and B.lux opted for multiple suspension lamps to ll the space both vertically and horizontally. The
concept was for multiple C_Ball lamps to make use of the existing points of light, while at the same time adapting to the architectural layout and illuminate it throughout. In this application, the spheres measured almost 12 inches in diameter. (It has since been included in the 2018 B.lux catalog).
The C-Ball suspended xtures were not the only styles created for the Hotel Jardines de Nivaria. The manufacturer’s Speers suspension lamps, designed by David Abad, were also utilized plus the Overlay by Tim Brauns and Ireland, created by Stone Designs for the project. B.lux also manufactured the illuminated mirrors for the bathrooms in the suites, which follow the same design lines as the C_Ball lamp collection.
The hotel’s award-winning restaurant, La Cúpula, was relocated to the fourth oor in order to take advantage of a greater outdoor view, made even more spectacular by the addition of oor-to- ceiling windows. The main restaurant, Solandra, also received a cosmetic faceli plus a new wine bar. In both cases, the lighting design maintained the aesthetic established throughout the resort while also remaining unobtrusive so as not to compete with the natural beauty outside. 
