Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2012 (Autumn Edition)

Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2012: There is still time to plan your trip to the cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong to attend the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2012 (Autumn Edition) running October 27-30 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The fair has been steadily growing with each year. In 2011, there was record-breaking participation of 2,104 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions. The number of buyers attending increased as well, rising nine percent over the previous year to reach more than 33,000. Visitors look forward to touring the Hall of Aurora, which concentrates on high-end lighting products with a focus on design.  The Hall of Aurora is popular with interior designers, architects, contractors, high-end retailers, and other lighting professionals who want to keep up with the brightest new ideas in elegant and modern high-performance lighting. Last year this Hall boasted more than 300 brands worldwide. The LED & Green Lighting Zone is the place to find smart and innovative lighting ideas that are eco-friendly. This sector is growing fast, spurred on by governments around the world bringing in regulations that ban some popular types of incandescent lighting. At the same time, consumers are searching for energy-saving products that deliver the illumination needed at a lower energy cost, while also being renewable, recyclable, and environmentally friendly. Last year more than 780 exhibitors took part in this zone, which covers domestic, commercial, industrial, and architectural green and LED lighting applications. To facilitate buyers’ flexibility to source in smaller quantities with suppliers, the Small-Order Zone will be launched at this month’s fair. Buyers can also source small orders on the show organizer’s award-winning sourcing portal at www.hktdc.com/so. The HKTDC offers a variety of incentive programs for buyers such as exclusive discounted hotel rates and airfares.  (Check with www.hktdc.com to see what is available in your area.) Cathay Pacific Airways, together with sister airline Dragonair, are providing exclusive business and economy class airfares with more flexibility that accommodate changes in travel plans.
