DALI Award Seeks Lighting Entries for 2012 Contest

enLightenment Magazine reports on DALI AwardThe activity group (AG) DALI is inviting submissions for the fourth DALI Award, a prize for outstanding DALI-based lighting projects completed in the last two years.  The award ceremony will be held in April 2012 at the international lighting trade fair Light+Building in Frankfurt, Germany. The closing date for applications is January 31, 2012.

The DALI Award recognizes new and innovative lighting applications in which DALI components are used for enhanced lighting
quality and convenience. DALI stands for “Digital Addressable Lighting Interface” and identifies a digital interface for intelligent lighting management that is in international use across the lighting industry.

Participation in the DALI Award 2012 competition is open to lighting design and architecture offices as well as luminaire, ballast, and control equipment manufacturers. Eligible projects can be in the private, industrial, commercial, or public sector and completed between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011. The criteria used to assess the entries include energy efficiency, convenience of operation, and lighting design.

The DALI Award competition is held every two years and is open to industry professionals from all over the world. Finalists will receive their awards in April 2012 at Light+Building. A detailed profile of the finalists’ projects will be presented on the DALI Web site. Winners will also be offered the opportunity to place a free ad in a professional lighting or architectural journal.
