Tim Stumm Joins Dallas Market Center Leasing Team

The Dallas Market Center (DMC) has appointed 25-year lighting retail veteran Tim Stumm as VP/Lighting & Design Industry Leasing. Previously Stumm has worked as VP/Marketing and Showroom Operations for Dallas-area Meletio Lighting & Electrical Supply and most recently was with Expressions Home Gallery (a MORSCO company). In his new position, he will be responsible for leasing and managing the 9th and 11th floors of the World Trade Center, which are dedicated to residential design. In addition, he will handle leasing responsibilities for the recently announced Light + Design showroom on the 10th floor and oversee business development opportunities for the lighting industry including home automation and smart lighting.

“Tim comes to us highly recommended by several lighting industry leaders familiar with his experience and capabilities,” says Cindy Morris, President & CEO of DMC. “His industry knowledge, relationships, and his passion for the business are a unique set of abilities to serve the luxury market and the interior design community. His participation is part of a long-range plan to not merely sustain our market position but push forward into new business channels serving a wider customer base.”

As the synergies between lighting and technology continue to become stronger and create a new marketplace for both smart lighting and home automation, executives at the DMC see a natural opportunity to provide a permanent showcase of additional resources targeting the connected home. The goal is to supply smart lighting and home automation products and solutions to the thousands of lighting buyers attending Lightovation, DMC’s twice-annual lighting show.

One of Stumm’s initial projects is to oversee leasing the balance of Light + Design, the previously announced lighting showroom concept that will debut in summer to serve the interior design community. The 25,000-sq.-ft. destination will feature a curated collection of lighting manufacturers in custom spaces managed by the DMC. More than 70 percent of available space in Light + Design, located on the 10th floor of the World Trade Center, has already been reserved by top manufacturers including Hinkley Lighting, John Richard, Kuzco, Holtkoetter, and others.

In addition to securing commitments from a list of interested companies that complement the companies already in place, Stumm will also recruit an experienced industry specialist to administer the daily operations of the showroom. He will also provide direction for event activities planned for Light + Design including CEU’s, training sessions and interior design events.
